This scope features extra low dispersion fluoride HD glass that delivers bright, sharp views with faithful color accuracy. Image quality is further enhanced through proprietary optical coatings that boost light transmission while improving contrast, clarity, and resolution across the visible spectrum. These coatings also add scratch resistance and make it easy to wipe away dirt, dust, and oils for consistently clean lenses. The 65 millimeter objective lens strikes an effective balance between performance and portability, making it well suited for detailed viewing at medium to long distances, particularly when paired with optional zoom eyepieces. Threads on the front of the objective housing allow the use of filters such as neutral density or polarizing options, which can be especially beneficial when digiscoping with the ATS system.

This updated ATS 65 design includes versatile mounting options that ensure compatibility with a wide variety of tripods and support systems. The integrated mounting shoe works directly with Arca Swiss style heads, eliminating the need for a separate quick release plate. For users with other tripod systems, the shoe also includes standard threaded sockets that allow secure attachment to most photo, video, and field tripod heads. The scope body is constructed from a lightweight yet rugged aluminum alloy and is sealed with nitrogen filling and O rings to provide waterproof performance and prevent internal fogging. A large, slip resistant focusing collar allows for smooth and precise adjustments, even in wet or cold conditions or while wearing gloves.

The scope body is designed to accept interchangeable eyepieces using a proprietary bayonet mount that provides a fast, secure connection, with eyepieces available separately for different magnification ranges. The angled eyepiece position places the viewer in a comfortable posture whether standing, seated, or viewing from a prone position. An extendable sunshade helps reduce glare and maintain contrast by minimizing stray light and lens flare, while a rotating mounting collar allows the eyepiece orientation to be adjusted for any viewing angle.
