Designed for professional videographers and content creators, the ATV-SG1 on-camera shotgun microphone provides clear, high-quality audio in a compact, user-friendly package. Its sleek, solid-mesh design mirrors Audio-Technica's classic 20 Series and is compatible with DSLR, mirrorless SLR, and other camera systems.
The ATV-SG1 features a highly directional 100 mm acoustic tube that isolates sound from the source while minimizing background noise. Similar to the 20 Series mics, it captures professional-grade sound for a lifelike reproduction of voices and other sound sources. The mic's new 14 mm large-diameter diaphragm ensures high sensitivity and low noise for clear, detailed audio. Its built-in shock mount effectively reduces handling noise from camera movements and vibrations, while Audio-Technica's patented noise-immunity technology eliminates hums from nearby electronics like smartphones.
In addition to its impressive sound quality, the ATV-SG1 offers several professional features to enhance your control over audio. These include a low-cut filter to reduce low-frequency noise from wind, traffic, or HVAC systems, and a rear-mounted gain knob for smooth, adjustable gain control. The safety track function records the main audio level on the left channel and a backup track at -6 dB on the right channel, ensuring clean audio even if sudden volume spikes occur. The microphone also provides an external input jack and accessory shoe, allowing you to connect a wireless lavalier mic receiver or a plug-in-powered wired lav mic to record simultaneously with the shotgun mic. Additionally, the headphone jack and adjustable volume knob let you monitor audio in real time.
The ATV-SG1 comes with a built-in USB rechargeable battery, offering up to 24 hours of continuous operation. It includes a wind muff for reducing outdoor noise during field recordings. The mic's 12-sided shoe mount allows flexible positioning, offering 30-degree adjustments and the ability to slide the mic forward or backward for optimal placement, whether to avoid the camera shot or make room for other accessories.
