Gitzo GK1542-82QD Mountaineer Series 1 Carbon Fiber Tripod with Center Ball Head

The Gitzo GK1542-82QD Mountaineer Series 1 Carbon Fiber Tripod features Carbon eXact tubing, incorporating High Modulus carbon fiber in the lower leg sections to enhance rigidity and strength. It supports a load capacity of 30.9 lb, extends to 67.4" in height, and folds down to 25.6" for easy storage and transport.

The tripod’s center column can be removed for a Ground Level Set, allowing the tripod to reach a minimum height of 10.4". Its 4-section legs are secured with G-lock Ultra twist locks, which feature internal O-rings to protect against dust and particles. The redesigned top spider adds rigidity, and large leg angle selectors provide a more comfortable grip for adjusting leg positions. A ballast hook at the bottom of the center column enables additional weight to be added for enhanced stability.

The included Gitzo Center Ball Head is Arca-type compatible, featuring two independent locks for 360° panning and ball movement control. It has a load capacity of 31 lb, independent panning lock for 360° rotation, and a height of 4.4". Weighing 1.1 lb, the ball head has a tungsten disulfide coating that minimizes sticking and ensures smooth movement. A screw lock tightens the quick release plate, and a bubble level helps keep horizons straight. The friction control dial on the large locking knob allows for precise adjustments.
