The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival is one of our city’s most anticipated summer events, with over 1,600 artists coming together for 11 days of theatre magic. This year, McBain Camera and Canon Canada are excited to be joining the fun!

Join McBain in welcoming Tamron Account Manager, Ted Geirschner, and Tamron Professional Photographer, Erica Robinson for a great day of photography inspiration and hands-on shooting! Tamron is coming to McBain's Mayfield Square location on Saturday, August 22nd, for an experiential day of photographic education.
- 9am-12pm: photo walk in the Mill Creek Ravine
- 1-3pm: Travel & Storytelling Photo Presentation by Erica Robinson in the Creator Classroom at McBain Camera's Mayfield Square location

The Photo Walk: 9am-12pm, Mill Creek Ravine
Join Tamron Americas and McBain Camera for a special photo walk through Edmonton’s beautiful Mill Creek Ravine, led by professional photographer and Tamron Ambassador, Erica Robinson. This hands-on experience is a great opportunity to explore new creative techniques, connect with fellow photographers, and capture stunning images in a scenic and natural setting.
Tamron will have a selection of lenses available in a variety of mounts for attendees to borrow during the walk, giving you the chance to try different focal lengths and experience Tamron optics firsthand. Whether you're looking to expand your skills or test out new gear, this event offers a fun and inspiring morning of photography.

Meet under the red-roofed shelter on the corner of 93 street and 68 avenue. From here, the group will head east and cross over into the Mill Creek Ravine.

In this seminar, we’ll discuss how to create compelling images that go beyond snapshots - images that convey a sense of place, emotion, and narrative. We'll explore thoughtful composition, location research, gear selection, and techniques for sharing your story through compelling visuals.
Erica Robinson holds a Bachelor of Science in Photography from Bridgewater State University and brings 16+ years of experience in the field. Her career spans diverse roles, including working as a wedding photographer in Boston, serving as a photographer on a cruise line, and offering technical expertise through a local camera store. Since 2016, she has represented Tamron USA as a Field Services Specialist. Erica focuses on travel photography and storytelling, using her skills to educate through hands-on workshops and inspire others to accomplish their photography goals.

You've mastered the fundamentals of adjusting your aperture, shutter speed, and ISO to get a great shot, but now it's time to push yourself to the next level! Dive deeper into your camera's capabilities, explore creative techniques to enhance your composition skills, and add valuable new tools to your photography tool belt.
During this four-week intermediate online course, Photographer Angie Patterson will uncover the secrets to maximizing your digital camera's potential. Each 2-hour session features numerous helpful photo tips, plus a series of fun exercises and photo projects that will give you hands-on experience applying the lessons you've learned.
For this course, attendees are expected to have a basic understanding of using manual camera modes. Additionally, because this is an intermediate course, participation in weekly activities is strongly recommended.
