Prior to committing fully to autofocus with the EOS system in 1987, Canon first attempted autofocus with the T80 and a special version of the FD-Mount. This lens was one of three released specifically for the T80 before Canon abandoned the concept in favour of a new lens mount specifically for autofocus. While this lens will mount on other FD-Mount bodies as a manual focus lens you'll be unable to control the aperture, meaning you'll be pretty limited when it comes to how you choose exposure.
