Leica Monopan ISO 50 Black & White 35mm Film (36 Exposure)

Designed to complement Leica's high-speed lenses, MONOPAN 50 is a slow-speed, high-resolution 35mm black-and-white negative film that reflects the clean aesthetic of the Monochrom line while staying true to Oskar Barnack's guiding principle of small negative, big picture.

This 35mm black-and-white film features super-panchromatic sensitivity up to 780nm, providing a wide tonal range and strong responsiveness to filtration, including work approaching the infrared spectrum. Its ultra-high resolution of 280 line pairs per millimeter produces images with exceptional sharpness, supported by a very fine and smooth grain structure.

With a slow ISO 50 film speed, it is especially well suited for use with fast lenses in daylight conditions, including optics like the Noctilux-M and Summilux-M series. The combination of high sharpness and minimal grain makes it ideal for high-magnification darkroom enlargements as well as detailed, high-resolution scanning.

An anti-halation layer helps prevent blooming and other halation effects, ensuring clean image quality with strong edge contrast. The traditional silver-rich emulsion is compatible with nearly all black-and-white film developers, offering flexibility in processing and consistent, reliable results.
