Designed for both new and experienced users, it is perfect for presenters, lecturers, clergy, and performers who demand clear, dependable wireless sound. Its automated Bluetooth setup app allows quick configuration and control from a mobile device, making the system easy to manage in any environment. The ultra wide dynamic range eliminates the need for input sensitivity adjustments, while the equidistant tuning grid, inspired by Sennheiser's high end Digital 6000 and 9000 systems, removes frequency coordination concerns and supports up to 90 simultaneous channels. With UHF transmission extending to 330 feet and a wide 56 megahertz bandwidth providing 2240 selectable frequencies, the system ensures a clean, stable signal even in challenging conditions.
The EW D uses Intelligent Switching Diversity to protect against interference and offers an ultra low 1.9 millisecond latency for seamless live performance. Bluetooth connectivity makes pairing simple and allows full control via the Smart Assist App, ensuring the microphone and receiver are perfectly synchronized in seconds. This configuration includes a single channel EW D EM receiver, a robust and lightweight EW D SKM S handheld transmitter with a switch, and an interchangeable MMD 835 cardioid microphone capsule optimized for clear vocals and speech. The metal transmitter pairs with the receiver via Bluetooth Low Energy from up to 120 feet away, offering up to eight hours of operation on AA batteries or twelve hours with the optional BA 70 lithium ion rechargeable pack. The half rack EW D EM receiver is built in a durable all metal chassis that can be used on a tabletop or rackmounted for permanent or portable installations.
The receiver features a bright OLED display with intuitive controls for quick setup and an auto scan function that locates the cleanest frequency automatically. Users can also manage the system through the Smart Assist App on an Android or iOS device within a 120 foot range. The 134 decibel dynamic range captures every nuance of sound with no overload, while the 24 bit digital processing and flat 20 hertz to 20 kilohertz frequency response deliver detailed, natural audio reproduction. The MMD 835 capsule’s cardioid pickup pattern reduces background noise and feedback, and the transmitter’s mute switch can be locked or controlled remotely for convenience during live performances. The interchangeable capsule design allows compatibility with a range of Sennheiser and Neumann capsules for different applications.
The EW D EM receiver provides fast, user friendly operation with clear RF and battery level indicators and both balanced XLR and unbalanced quarter inch outputs for easy connection to sound systems. Its detachable antennas can be upgraded for greater range and reliability, and it includes rackmount hardware and a universal power supply with global adapters. The equidistant tuning grid maximizes reliability and channel density, spacing frequencies evenly to prevent interference even in crowded environments. Operating in the UHF band, the EW D avoids congestion from Wi Fi networks, maintaining a strong, uninterrupted signal.
Through the Smart Assist App, users can configure, monitor, and control up to sixteen channels from one mobile device, adjusting frequencies, muting, and naming channels with ease. The app also provides access to tutorials and documentation, helping users of all experience levels achieve professional results quickly. For larger setups, multiple devices can each manage additional channels, expanding the system as needed. Optional accessories include longer half wave antennas for extended range, front mount kits for improved line of sight, and directional antennas for enhanced coverage. For more complex systems, the ASA active antenna splitter distributes RF signals and power to multiple receivers, reducing rack clutter.
The system can also be expanded with the EW D SK bodypack transmitter, compatible with various lavalier, headset, and instrument microphone options. Presenters and educators can use the MKE 2 or ME 2 omnidirectional lavalier mics for natural, broadcast quality audio, or the ME 4 and ME 3 cardioid options for better feedback control in louder environments. Musicians can connect guitars, basses, or keyboards using the CI 1 instrument cable. Combining intelligent design, flawless sound, and flexible expandability, the Sennheiser EW D 835 S SET offers professional performance and ease of use in one sophisticated wireless solution.
