Atomos Shogun CONNECT 7-Inch Network-Connected HDR Video Monitor & Recorder

The Shogun CONNECT from Atomos enhances the monitoring and HDR recording features of the Shogun by adding powerful cloud-based connectivity through multiple wireless interfaces. It features a 7 inch 1920 x 1200 touchscreen display with an impressive 2000 cd/meters-squared brightness for clear visibility in any environment. Equipped with a 12G SDI input and output loop through, it supports SDI RAW recording alongside HDMI connections that allow monitoring, recording, and transmitting 4K video effortlessly. Footage can be stored using the SATA 3 SSD slot that is compatible with Master Caddy II and III as well as AtomX SSD mini. Power is supplied through a locking DC jack or with an optional L series battery.

Built on the advanced AtomIC3 platform, the Shogun CONNECT delivers higher frame rate support and improved resolutions while allowing the simultaneous creation of matching Apple ProRes, ProRes RAW, or Avid DNxHR/HD hero files alongside HEVC proxy files. Using Atomos transfer technology, proxy files can be uploaded during capture for immediate access in the cloud. With its new brighter HDR screen and versatile connectivity, it accommodates a wide range of professional cinema, DSLR, and mirrorless cameras and can live stream directly to platforms like Facebook Live, YouTube, and Twitch.

The Shogun CONNECT also incorporates wireless timecode, sync, and device control through AirGlu, which provides long range communication up to 0.2 miles and ensures timecode lock across multiple Atomos units, cameras, audio devices, and supported software. AirGlu also communicates relay recording, battery life, and storage information to a designated server device. Frame.io integration makes it a complete camera to cloud solution, with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth LE, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB C providing versatile connectivity. Dual recording and progressive transfer enable faster collaboration between production and post production teams.

Users can control the Shogun CONNECT either on the device or remotely with the AtomRemote app for iOS and macOS, which uses Bluetooth LE to manage monitor assist functions from up to 50 feet away. Functions include setting camera connections, selecting Gamma and EOTF, adjusting color gamut, playback control, output settings, and loading custom 3D LUTs. Additional control options include HDMI triggers for Canon, Sony, and Atomos Open Standard cameras, SDI triggers for compatible systems, LANC support via a serial 2.5mm jack with a USB to serial cable, and RF based start and stop triggers through AirGlu.

The Shogun CONNECT supports HDR, camera Log formats, and 3D LUTs, with the ability to load custom .cube LUTs into eight available slots using the removable SSD. A range of monitoring tools such as waveform, focus peaking, false color, and frame guides are included to ensure accurate exposure and composition in any shooting situation.
