Atomos Ninja TX 5.2-Inch Camera to Cloud Monitor & Recorder

The Ninja TX 5.2" Camera to Cloud Monitor/Recorder from Atomos is a fully redesigned 5" on-camera monitor and recorder that maintains the heritage of the Ninja line while introducing powerful upgrades. It now includes 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 input and output, integrated Connect technology with Wi-Fi for TX/RX streaming and direct uploads, an ultra-bright 1500 cd/meters-squared display, 8K30 raw recording, and support for CFexpress Type B or USB-C media. Additional features include RF/Bluetooth timecode sync, a built-in NDI/HX3 license, and all major codecs such as ProRes RAW, DNx, and H.265 built in for seamless workflows.

Its 5.2" IPS touchscreen delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution with high brightness for accurate viewing in daylight conditions, offering 8/10-bit color processing, HDR, Rec. 709 color, and Calibrite ColorChecker calibration support. The updated Linux-based AtomOS brings a cleaner design, enhanced tools, and cooler operation for improved efficiency. With AtomX Connect features natively integrated, the Ninja TX offers expanded connectivity and full NDI support, allowing it to function as either a source or receiver on a network while also acting as a robust timecode hub with AirGlu wireless sync.

The Camera to Cloud workflow enables direct upload to platforms such as ATOMOSphere, Adobe Frame.io, and Dropbox without additional hardware. It supports a wide range of log formats from leading camera brands, custom 3D LUT uploads, and HDR conversions to formats like Log, HLG, PQ, or Dolby Vision. Through its HDMI input, the Ninja TX can capture raw metadata including white balance, shutter, ISO, gamma, and gamut. Video support includes up to 8K30, 4K60, and 1080p120 with loop-through for additional devices, while 12G-SDI adds flexibility for more professional workflows with cross conversion between HDMI and SDI available.

Recording options are expanded with a CFexpress Type B slot and dual USB-C outputs offering high-speed data transfer over PCIe and NVMe protocols, with ports also supporting LUT uploads, calibration, audio devices, and firmware updates. Power options include an L-series battery plate for NP-F batteries, an optional battery eliminator for DC input, and USB-C 30W PD charging with the supplied cable.

Monitoring and control tools are extensive, featuring one-touch functions such as focus peaking, zoom, zebras, false color, frame guides, waveforms, RGB parade, vectorscope, safe areas, grid markers, anamorphic de-squeeze, and full 3D/1D LUT support. Operation combines multifunction buttons with an intuitive touchscreen, while camera triggers are supported over HDMI with Canon and Sony, as well as over SDI with compatible models. Remote operation is possible via Bluetooth, RF through AirGlu, or with LANC control using a separately available USB-C serial cable.
