When paired with an Olympus AC Adapter, it charges the DS-9500 in roughly half the time compared to USB charging (USB: about 4 hours). It also includes a connector for an Olympus footswitch, allowing hands-free control of the recorder for dictation or transcription. The dedicated voice recorder connector protects the device’s microUSB port from wear and damage caused by repeated connections.
