The DS-9100 offers powerful noise cancellation and secure 256-bit AES file encryption to improve workflow and dictation control. Its dual microphones focus on the speaker’s voice with beam forming technology that helps reduce background noise. A triple-layer studio-grade filter captures speech with clarity while blocking out unwanted sounds, delivering greater accuracy and better overall efficiency.

The DS-9100 uses low noise omni-directional microphones with a built-in shock absorber to reduce handling noise. A triple-layered pop filter in the microphone housing helps block wind noise and plosive sounds for clear voice capture. The Intelligent Two-Microphone System analyzes sound phase differences and uses Audio Beamforming to suppress noise from the back and sides, focusing on the speaker’s voice for improved clarity in various environments.

For standard dictation, the main microphone records in omni-directional mode, allowing flexible positioning. For interviews or small meetings, the microphones operate in a 90-degree layout to deliver clear stereo recordings. This setup captures speech from all directions with clarity and detail.

The DSS format provides efficient compression while preserving sound quality, supporting quick edits like insert, overwrite, append, or cut, and includes helpful metadata to streamline workflow. PCM format offers minimal compression for high audio quality and broad compatibility, while MP3 is ideal for sharing and playback on most devices.

The VCVA function pauses recording during silence and resumes when sound is detected, conserving memory and increasing efficiency. Up to 32 Index Marks can be added during recording or playback, helping you find key moments quickly.

The DS-9100 offers flexible recording modes. Insert lets you add audio within a file, Overwrite replaces specific parts, and Append adds new content at the end. A New File button gives you control over when to begin a fresh recording.

The DS-9100 is equipped with a 2.4 inch TFT colour LCD that displays a live recording monitor and an intuitive, easy-to-navigate menu system for quick access to functions. The optical slide switch allows you to start, stop, and edit recordings with ease, enabling hands-free control without needing to look away from your task.

It includes 2GB of internal memory and supports external SD cards up to 32GB for expanded storage. Recordings can be transferred to a computer using the included micro-B USB cable. Headphones can be plugged in for playback or monitoring, and additional microphones - such as boundary, shotgun, or lavalier - can be used to suit specific recording situations.

Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the DS-9100 delivers up to 56 hours of use. Recharging is simple by connecting the device to a computer or a compatible USB power source. The system also supports Author ID tagging, embedding user information in each audio file for easy identification. Multiple work IDs and custom work types like “case notes” or “patient consultation” can be assigned to streamline workflow.

The CR-21 Docking Station allows fast and reliable connection to your PC. When used with an OM SYSTEM AC Adapter, the recorder fully charges in about two hours. You can also connect a footswitch for hands-free operation, ideal for high-efficiency dictation workflows.
