Hoya 62mm Black Mist Diffuser No. 1 Filter

This Mist Diffuser Black No. 1 Filter from Hoya softens light sources to produce a glowing effect around highlights. It lowers overall contrast, especially in shadow areas, and delivers a cinematic, film-like quality to photos and videos. The filter enhances halation or "blooming" in highlights and reflective light sources, while reducing contrast, wrinkles, and skin imperfections for a smoother, more romantic appearance. Its effect is comparable to a 1/4-rated cinematic mist filter.

The cinematic mist look is achieved by evenly distributing fine black nano powder between two layers of optical glass, then bonding them. This optical glass filter preserves image sharpness but isn't multi-coated, allowing for more flares. Its slim aluminum frame works well with wide-angle lenses without causing vignetting.
