The Fujifilm instax mini Evo 2 builds on the success of the original mini Evo, combining the charm of instant photography with enhanced digital imaging capabilities. Retaining its premium, classic styling and tactile analog-inspired controls, this hybrid instant camera lets you compose shots on a rear LCD screen, choose your favorite images to print, and even function as a smartphone printer.
Designed to deliver a more immersive shooting experience, the mini Evo 2 introduces a large 4.5-inch touchscreen LCD, the first touchscreen display ever featured in the instax lineup. Approximately 1.5 times larger than the screen on its predecessor, it provides improved visibility and intuitive control over camera settings, effects, and image selection.
Image quality also receives a significant boost, with a new 13MP sensor delivering more than double the resolution of the original mini Evo. Combined with the camera's instant printing capabilities, this enhanced performance makes the mini Evo 2 a more capable digital camera for everyday photography.
Creative expression remains at the heart of the Evo series, with 100 unique shooting effects available through the combination of 10 Lens Effects and 10 Film Effects. New features further expand the creative experience, including instax Expanded View, which displays a slightly wider area than the final print frame, making it easier to compose shots and track moving subjects before capturing the perfect moment.
The mini Evo 2 also introduces instax Immersive Movie, a feature that records the five seconds leading up to each photo. From subtle changes in expression to the movement of the surrounding scene, users can preserve the moments behind the image and relive them later. Videos can be transferred through the dedicated app for easy sharing and viewing.
By combining improved image quality, a larger touchscreen display, and innovative new shooting features, the instax mini Evo 2 delivers a richer instax experience from capturing and printing moments to sharing and revisiting memories.
- The mini Evo 2 features a large 4.5-inch LCD monitor, approximately 1.5 times larger than that of the current mini Evo. The larger display significantly improves visibility, allowing users to carefully check subjects and compositions while shooting. In addition, the mini Evo 2 is the first model in the instax series to feature a touchscreen LCD monitor. Users can intuitively adjust various settings, such as turning the flash on and off, and browse captured images with a swipe motion, just like flipping through instax prints.
- The mini Evo 2 also delivers enhanced imaging performance, with the maximum image resolution increased to 13 megapixels, more than double that of the mini Evo. The higher resolution enables users to capture images with greater detail and clarity, further improving the camera’s performance as a digital camera.
- With the instax Expanded View mode, the LCD monitor displays an area slightly wider than the actual print area. Users can better time their shots as subjects move into the frame, making it easier to capture moving subjects with the desired composition at the perfect moment. The mode gives users greater freedom to focus on both framing and timing, enabling them to create images that reflect their individual style.
- The instax Immersive Movie function records the moments leading up to the shutter release as a five-second short video. Users can capture the story behind a photograph, from the process of composing a shot to the atmosphere just before the shutter is pressed and subtle changes in a subject’s expression. The recorded videos can be viewed directly on the camera or transferred to the dedicated app for download to a smartphone. Saved in a vertical 9:16 format, the videos are also ideal for sharing on social media.
- Some of the popular Lens Effects and Film Effects from the current mini Evo have been updated. The camera features 10 Lens Effects, including Afterimage, which creates a striking sense of motion and atmosphere, and Soft Focus, which delivers a gentle, dreamy look, as well as 10 Film Effects, including Yellow Green for a light and airy mood and “Deep” for a calm, subdued tone. By freely combining these effects, users can enjoy 100 Shooting Effects, enabling a wider range of photographic expression and allowing them to express their individuality through instax prints.
- Images captured with the mini Evo 2 and videos recorded using the instax Immersive Movie function can be transferred to the dedicated app after printing with the mini Evo 2. Transferred images and videos can then be downloaded to a smartphone.
- In addition to Bluetooth connectivity, the dedicated app supports a high-speed transfer mode via Wi-Fi, enabling smoother transfer of images and videos.
- The Print History feature allows users to view transferred images and videos in a single gallery and add personal comments to preserve memories and stories associated with each shot.
- With the Direct Print function, photos taken on a smartphone or favorite images stored on a smartphone can be printed as instax prints using the mini Evo 2. This function also allows the mini Evo 2 to be used as a smartphone printer.
