Offering a 24-105mm equivalent zoom range, it maintains a constant f/4 aperture for consistent performance across all focal lengths. Built on the ZEISS Tessar optical concept, the lens features a compact design with 16 elements in 12 groups, helping reduce flaring, distortion, and chromatic aberrations. The consistent maximum aperture supports greater control over depth of field, while a rounded seven-blade diaphragm enhances the quality of out-of-focus areas. An extra-low dispersion element improves clarity and minimizes color fringing, while four aspherical elements, including one Advanced Aspherical, address various monochromatic aberrations for more accurate rendering. ZEISS T* anti-reflective coatings enhance contrast and color fidelity by reducing unwanted reflections.
