The Speedlite EL-5 Version 2 carries much of the original EL-5's featureset forward. LED Modeling light, Lithium-Ion LP-EL battery for 0.1-1.2 second recycle times for up to 350 full-power shots, and wireless control. The modeling lamp allows active preview of the light pattern for the flash with a guide number of 60m/169.9ft at 200mm zoom and ISO 100. The Flash has FE Memory for saved setups, and can have settings stored and linked to compatible cameras' Custom settings. Using the Multi-function connector at the foot allows advanced communication on multi-function shoe equipped cameras allowing improved customization and control between flash and camera.
The wireless control range is now up to 50 metres, with up to 15 Speedlites being controllable simultaneously.
