Canon RF 85mm F1.2 USM DS Lens

The 85mm F1.2L USM DS sits alongside the standard RF 85mm F1.2, but is differentiated by what Canon calls Defocus Smoothing (DS). Defocus Smoothing works thanks to a special coating to two of the lens' thirteen elements. It's an apodization filter (essentially a circular gradient filter that filters out some of the peripheral light rays, to avoid bright-edged bokeh. This means the DS version should give smoother edges to out-of-focus highlights, compared to those rendered by the standard version of the lens.
